This entry is dedicated to CDR. Hank Kleemann

It depicts "Fast Eagle 102" (BuNo 160403) as she would have been seen following the Gulf of Sidra incident on August 19, 1981. Although she wore "102" during the engagement, you will notice that my "Fast Eagle 102" actually wears the side number "101" which is how the aircraft was repainted following the engagement. Since CDR. Kleemann was the squadron CO, it seemed only right to renumber the aircraft since he went into the history books with this aircraft.

Tragically, CDR. Kleemann was killed during a mishap when the F/A-18 that he was flying flipped over on landing.

The Navy lost a truly gifted pilot and leader that day...
